my wife and I are thinking of relocating from hailey to mccall to possibly open up the old paradise burger and beer joint. Do any locals remember anything much about it, or think the town would like a cleaned up rejuvinated burger and ale stand?

You might consider updating your site. Whitetail is gone and Shore Lodge is returned to it's rightful place. The only remanent of White tail is the real estate holdings and the golf course.

Incorrect facts. Corey would have been a very young boy when the 1924 winter carnival took place. Warren was c. 13. Corey wasn't even in this country. The Harrah's Casino comment is highly doubtful. There was one hotel (Abbott) that had "ladies" and the gambling was mainly one arm bandits, poker and roulette. Lardo was named after the post office that Tom McCall moved from Roseberry to McCall pre-1900 , which was relocated to the settlement across the river one mile west of McCall in 1903, which then took the name Lardo. Interestingly, McCall, was also called Lardo, Elo and Lakeport at various times until around 1914. Finally, the picture of Corey was not from McCall. The sign says 'Snow Basin'..Colorado or Utah?

I have to agree with "alexberg" about Toll Station Pizza. Went there initially to try the pizza that seems to get rave reviews. Two in our party ended up getting the seafood fettucine and I decided to try the chicken marsala. Oh my! I have never seen that much salmon, scallops and shrimp in a seafood pasta before... and the size of the shrimp were huge! As for my chicken marsala, it is ten times better than any you would ever find at an Olive Garden Restaurant. We all had the salad bar and that is a meal in itself. There is truly something for everyone at this restaurant and the atmosphere and staff are terrific! DLO

If you're looking for great Mexican food, we don't think you'll get it at Chapala's. The food was rather bland and service a bit slow. Others may like bland; not that we like spicy, but there wasn't much flavor (we all ordered something different too). DLO

It may cost a bit more, but the quality of the food at the Mill Steak and Spirits is unbeatable! The old-time lodge atmosphere and friendly servers make this a great place to have a special evening out. Spend a little more...you'll get a lot! DLO

I lived in McCall for 15 years and still go up to visit my mother and I have to say that both Tamarack and other factors have definitely destroyed the wonderful communities of McCall and Donnelly. I think that a lot of it has to do with McCall being bankrupt, they really cannot say no to anyone who wants to build, but the entire town is on the fast track to being an actual Sun Valley. All of those condos and tall buildings in downtown just do not fit the landscape and they block the wonderful lake views. I'm definitely disapointed in the direction the town has taken and it makes me sad each time I drive through so much so that I usually take the bypass so I don't have to look at it and remember the good old days.

the people that manage the hot springs are rude. they have a son that got into aur cabbin while we were out and stoll things. when we confronted his parents they were very rude and did not care!!!!

I have had good and bad experiences with the people there, but you can't deny that it is an AWESOME hotspring as long as their kid don't bug the crap outta ya.

I went riding with the Yahoo corrals outfit a few years ago with a friend. The outfit was well run and the horses appeared to be well cared for. We did a nice half-day ride through some local trails - it was a great first time experience.

I'm partial to Whitetail. Hotel McCall is nice too, but if you want to stay on the lake you can't do better. With new ownership, a multi-year remodel (lord knows what took so long) Whitetail has it all. I hear the golf course is good, but I have never played it.
